I have been lucky enough to come across 14 quarters (10 from 1964, 1 from 1958, 1 from 1952, 1 from 1944, and 1 from 1941) in a roll of quarters we had a work. All coins seem to be in good condition, especially the 1964's. The 1941 looks great, some wear around the edges, but all the others are in decent condition. (I don't know what is considered mint, good, acceptable, bad in the coin world.) What would be a conservative bet if I tried to sell all 14 on ebay or took them to a local coin shop? I know it's hard to say without seeing them but could I get like an idea of maybe a high and low offer I would receive? Thanks!! Adam
Unless they were in exceptional condition, you would get nothing more than melt value of the silver which is: 14 x $6.12 = $85.68
Hi Adam...Welcome to CT!!:welcome: The silver content of fourteen (14) uncirculated quarters is $86 when silver is $34/Oz (as it is today). You didn't mention any Mint Marks on the earlier quarters...which might affect value. You might get $85 - $100 on eBay. I'm not sure what a Dealer would be willing to pay, but I would guess it would be a bit less. Hope this helps.
Here's a lot that just ended with 16 quarters that sold for $91.00 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sixteen-Washington-Quarters-/330640140115?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item4cfbb02753&autorefresh=true#ht_500wt_1190 So yeah, with 14, you'll be looking between 85-100 bucks most likely. If you got them at face value, that's a pretty good profit if you do decide to sell them.
