I bought this 1964 Accented Hair Kennedy from my dealer the other day. I pretty much gave up on the notion of trying to find one CRH. And he knew I liked Christian medals, so he gave me this Last Supper!
Nice pickup. On the Kennedy, you might consider buffing out those scratches on the slab. It might allow you to see the coin better, and thus enjoy it more. See here for more details: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/coin-photography-scratched-slabs.356200/
Thanks again for the link to this post @geekpryde! Here are some before and after photos of my slabbed 1964 Accented Hair PF64. I used Meguiar’s PlastX plastic cleaner and polish and it turned out much better than before. There are still a few deep scratches (from the 5 - 8 o’clock position) that I will continue to work on, but I am pretty happy with the results so far.
Nice pickups. I have the Accented Hair but that Last Supper is one I'd really like to have. I think I like that better than the Kennedy Half.
Yes, I really like the Leonardo Da Vinci Last Supper medal. When we were in Italy 15 years ago, we bought a beautiful tapestry of The Last Supper and hung it in our dining room. As for the medal, I’m not sure what the exact silver content is of “.999 silver clad”, lol. Also, how reputable is IGS?
Not much silver in a silver clad. Kind of like a silver coating. As for IGS, I have no interest in them. I consider them a basement grader for lack of a better term. Still, I like the round and I would have bought it at the right price.
