I was lucky enough to find the coin I just researched info on this Past weekend and got it a day later in a customer rolled roll of coins from the bank. So I’m excited but then I see the number “2” above the date twice. The higher one more prominent then the other. They look like the type of numbers that are used for dates. What is this from? A mint error or someone being funny? Here are three photos. One of my lucky find and two more focusing on the “2’s”. Please advise?

Lools incused into the Cent. That then is just damage. Probably a hit due to circulation wear and tear. Not a Mint Error.

It's known, and over the decades,
it's been described as either a doubled
    die, or a clashed die.

I don't know the 'final' diagnosis for this century.

Neither do I, I have 3 of them from long ago. I could never visualize the pivoting of a hub that would produce it, but also hard to visualize a clash causing that much of a turn of the final digit. But they grow on a person. Jim
