Hobo: I can not see it! I thought it was when the letters are stuck at different points close together! Please explain! :smile
It doesn't quite resemble FS-25-1962-101. The width of the right leg of the 'R' in 'TRUST' is not quite wide enough (this is a PUP of the FS-25-1962-101). That is, if it is a proof? And you say it is correct (Doesn't look like a proof coin to me)? There are no business/mint set strike 1962 Washington Quarters that feature DDO according to the CPG. I believe it to be MD just by deductive reasoning... -Brian
I am assuming it is a DoubleD Die. (It certainly appears to be.) The doubling is on the die so every coin struck by the die will have the doubling. Enlarge the photo and you should be able to see some doubling on the right side of the letters.
http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=66044&lotNo=23192 Here is a link where one has sold back in 2006 at heritage. Its not a proof my mistake. reg.\bus. strike.
I also have a 1962 proof quarter (still in gov envelope). It appears to be a DDO, the odd thing is that the Franklin Half is also DD.
Here are two images of the quarter, I purchased this set many years ago, I just picked up a Mscope to take pictures. Any help or advise or comments is very welcome
