I bought it as a strike-through . Found out it's also Coneca DDO-003 . I matched the images to DDO-003 on Franklin Lovers web site . http://www.franklinlover.yolasite.com/doubled-dies-1962.php
Try hanging a tissue in front of the light source to kill some of the glare off the mirrored finish. Nice find, was it another eBay chance taken?
yup nice find for sure. And what's ironic most would believe its a scratch not a strike through....and pass on the purchase
On my scope the LEDs shine through a diffuser already . I didn't add any extra light to the images, only the scope lights .
What method do you use when determining what coin you go after? How much of it a gut feeling? That's what keeps me from pulling the trigger on most of the listings, I just don't feel good about what I see or it just might be trust issues. And then of course there's some of the ridiculous prices being asked. Just curious.
Just look through the images and listings . Then I use the variety sites and try to match coins up . I try to stay away from auction listing too .
Just looked at the sellers photos you posted. Did you notice what looks to be strong doubling on the "D" in GOD?
Keep in mind, there's a MDO . It was the " R " in Liberty . It's not listed as being part of the MDO .
Look at the obverse photo from the seller. I made it a little larger and it looks different from your photo. Probably the angle. Check it out.
I'll take a new image of the D in GOD, in the morning . I was matching the D to the site image, for Die #1 .
