    The L took a hit if thats what your referring to-damaged still a nice looking Lincoln.

    Those are just the designer's initials V.D.B,normal.

    This is quite normal for pre-1968 LMC's & LWC's

    All Lincoln cents from 1918 to present have the engraver's initial on the bottom of the bust. In 1909 the were on the reverse for part of that year only.

    @Johnly93 - just in case you didn't know Lincoln Memorial Cent (LMC), minted 1959 through 2008, and Lincoln Wheat Cent (LWC), minted 1909 through 1958.
