I found this in some proof cents I purchased quite sometime ago. So far there is no classification # for it. Oh, this is my second DDO. jeankay
Jeankay…have you tried to figure this die out using the CONECA listings? This looks like it might be a 62PR DDO-008, medium spread on the date, light triple spread on 96 with separation lines near the center of each number. The 008 also has a medium split on upper right corner of Y in LIBERTY, and a light spread on ST of TRUST, with a marker of two light parallel die scratches on neck under ear. http://www.conecaonline.org/content/lincolndoubleddies19611963.html Larry Nienaber
Hey grnwavdav, I found a 1936P-1DO-001 die #2 awhile back. It is very worn. This is my very first DDO where I can actually see the separation. Thanks, jeankay
Hi Larry, Thanks for the suggestion. The description is similar, but the die markers mentioned are not on this coin. However, after getting it back under the QX5 I discovered a few almost indiscernible splits on several letters on obv and rev. If the Q had better resolution it would be much easier to see the splits and separations. Maybe and early die state? Don't know yet. I will see if my paint shop program can improve the pics and try to post some tomorrow. This has been quite and adventure.. jeankay
