    Not likely doubled. Nickels in the 1960s, and to some extent in the 1950s, were subject to extreme die deterioration. Nickel is a hard metal, and requires high striking pressures. During the war years, and for a couple of decades afterwards, the Mint was pretty stingy with the dies. They used them until they were practically destroyed.

    What you're seeing on your coin is a late die state (LDS), which means that a lot of the features are going to be fuzzy. I've best seen this described as having an orange peel (peau d'orange) appearance, especially around the periphery of the coin. Your coins appears to be of this type.
