More of an experiment for me, the coin is not worth saving IMO. The coin had both verdigris (obverse) and a gummy residue (reverse). I spent about 10 minutes soaking and then using the toothpick method.

Very nice! So the initial soak was in VerdiCare? You didn't need to do any other treatments to get rid of the gum first?

    I haven't had much success with the Verdi-Care treatment on any of my pieces. Mostly a "meh" . . . . .

Well, success or the lack of it is a relative thing and it has to be judged against -
    1 - your expectations
2 - what the product is capable of and not capable of
3 - the original condition of the coin

For example, if a coin has light verdigris it works quite well at safely removing it as it did in the pics above. But if a coin has heavy verdigris, or, if whatever it is that is on the coin is not verdigris, then what some might think of as success simply cannot be expected because the product isn't capable of doing that.

This has been posted many, many times over the years, and it used to be included and explained in the instructions that came with the product. (It may still be included in the instructions but I do not know one way of the other.)

Nope, right to VC on this test coin. VC will remove gummy stuff like that almost instantly.
