The MS64FBL Franklin set has been on my short list of sets to complete for a while. I have about 50% so far. Do you have the 1953S, yet? If I can find one, I'll have to complete the set.
That’s one of the 6 that I need. That date is a challenge. The other 5 that I need are not to bad in price but they are tougher to find. I’ve also been working on a MS-64 or better Peace Dollar set. I gave that one a higher priority and I’m down to my last coin. I have 3 Peace sets in lower grades but I wanted a PCGS set. I just can’t find the one date I need that’s reasonable in price.
Sorry...I was wondering if that was the last Peace Dollar you need to complete your MS64 (or better) set.
That's usually my approach, too. Your 1962 Frankie got me thinking about a purchase I made a while back. About 10-12 years ago, I bought a sealed Mint box containing eighty (80) mint sets. Mint sets are notorious for having lower quality, bag marked coins. I spent $22/set...which was a lotta money at the time. More than one person said I threw my money away. Perhaps...the odds of having any high quality coins in this lot are pretty low. The highest quality examples of 1962/1962D quarters and halves are fairly rare. On the other hand, I figure that, by 2062, this may be the last cache of verifiably unsearched coins left and quite desirable...not that I'll be around to see.
