Doubled date. Just like when I got change from a cashier in TN, found a W. I buy a tea this morning, in my change I received this 62, a 64 cent, 64 nickel and 79 and 72 dime. I found that interesting. This 62 not the best of shape but not the worst.
The mintmark has the same and as the MM was added by hand to the working die, I would class it as machine doubling, IMO
Really? I was thinking especially the 2. In my change today. I was surprised just to have that date in change.
But the points in the 2 and the mintmark are split. Well, at least look split to Meow. Maybe a doubled die date and a RPM.
Thanks! That’s what I was looking at. The 2. I have a friend that her husband collects but of course not Lincoln’s. But what I have here he said sometimes it’s best in person.
I really can't see what you see in those photos or in hand. But if you say it is the 2 that is most effected. Then try to match it to one of these. The first 2 have a very close MM position as yours and has to match perfectly. So do the die markers shown. https://coppercoins.com/diesearch.php For the markers and more pics click on the MDS or LDS.
The 2 is showing the same effect that you see on the 1955 with poor man's doubling. It's from a worn die and has no added value.
Thanks.. and just a little info, I’m not looking for value. Not selling. Just looking through my parents coins of what to save for my son. No big deal!
