The question is Why does, a 1982 d dime weight 2.316 and a 1978 dime also at wt. 2.300 and my 1962 d dime only weight only 2.206? are dimes suppose to vary in weight? What say you?
Yes. And the same goes for all other denominations. It shouldn't but it can occur for various reasons. Struck on slightly thicker or thinner than usual Planchets or even circulation wear and tear.
