The 9 on this coin makes it very difficult (for me) to determine if this is considered the small date or large date. Can anyone help?
I did look at that chart. My problem is the 9. I can't tell what's going on with the head of the 9. Is that dirt or is the 9 itself smashed in? The 6 onto itself didn't help me at all based on that reference picture. Would it help if next time I provide this information, is, what I've done/investigated on my own in my initial post for help? Thank you in advance for everyone's feedback! I'm just starting out so I'm learning as I go. Thanks again!
the "9" has a die chip which is what caused upper part to be filled in, a tiny piece of the die chipped off leaving a void where metal flowed into when the coin was struck, http://www.error-ref.com/?s=die+chip
