A little find I thought was interesting. I was given a couple rolls of 1960D Lincoln cents that had never been opened. One end had a cardboard plug and the other rolled in showing one of the cents. I'm not sure if this is what is refered to as a shotgun roll or not. The end coins were discolored a bit. Not knowing what was inside I guess is some of the fun part of this coin collecting but I couldn't leave it alone. When I opened them I found 16 of what I believe are RPMs. I did use my gloves to remove the coins, check them and place each one into 2X2s. Hope I'm doing this right. Here are a couple of photos taken from those cents.
If you are looking to sell some of them dave7822@aol.com is looking for a lot of RPMs and he will give you a fair price for them.
Think I'll hang onto them for a while. I would like to find a good RPM and error book if someone has a suggestion. If I do sell I'll keep him in mind. Thanks.
Same subject came up in another thread - it's The Cherrypickers' Guide. You can find two for sale by Clicking Here
How can you really tell whether the mint mark has been repunched? Is it only by Denver mint? Maybe I should just buy one and then see the difference.
Look at the pics closely - you can see one mint under another mint mark. And no it didn't just happen with Denver - it happened with most of the mints at one time or another.
