I bought a bunch of 1964 and earlier US Mint Sets but one of them (a 1960) has really bad cellophane, it seems to be coming apart - it is brittle and crinkly and weird. The rest are normal, smooth and clear. I am kind of annoyed as I wanted to keep these in the original packaging and maybe choose some especially nice ones to submit for grading on a new collection, but now I worry about even leaving these coins in the packaging at all. Do you think it will hurt them if I do? It hurts the value if I take them out, doesn't it? Thoughts? Suggestions? Has anyone else encountered this? IMG_4067.JPG IMG_4066.JPG IMG_4065.JPG

No its about the coins not the packaging if you feel like they are in danger just take em out and store them well.

you can buy little snap lock cases that hold them all. Would even still fit in the evelope.
I wouldn't mind buying one like that, but I'm the weird type who kept the baggies the 2020 W nickels came in even though I cut them out for capsules.

Me too! I still have most of the wrappers the early Presidential Dollars came in.

I have zero clues as to why I do it. My grandmother found a 1974 silver ike she bought for my dad's birth, and basically, the original packaging was in the envelope, but the coin in a little capsule.

    So I guess it's genetic.
