Every picture is a different penny. I have two main questions: are these small date Penny's? And are the areas I circled die deterioration? I have a roll of these and many of them have different issues
Both large and small dates are common on the Denver coins. As are the chips and other anomalies. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1960smalldate.html
Yes they are small date 1960 D. The obverses on coin 2 and 3 are die chips. I can't make out what's happening on the reverses, but I would think probably die deterioration. There are several doubled dies and rpms for 1960. It's a great year for LMC varieties!
The first one is interesting. I tend to see suggestions of a small date/large date in the date. The coin appears to be a business strike, but you can compare with this coin of mine. I do not think your camera can do well with the size, but use a magnifier to look at the areas I used color to indicate. It is 1960 sm/lg date with a RPM D/D that is widely separated. Image has to be rather sharp to show the separated 'D'. Best of luck! Jim
Yes, has a difficult time taking pictures, I will look at them with my X45 lens. Thanks for the replies!!! What I noticed in the words "States Of America" is the raised area moves up and down
This roll is heavy with die chips, question: can a die chip get under the die and stress it, I have about 4 Penny's from this roll with the same area of damage (on the 6)
