Found this 1960 Lincoln while roll searching. I think it might be a proof that someone put into circulation. My observations: The date: There is doubling evident to both sides (small over large date). LIBERTY: There is doubling evident on all sides. IN GOD WE TRUST: There is doubling evident....however....I see possible tripling to the west in TRUST. Wish I could get clearer pics...this is the first link I posted....hope it works. Hopefully you can see what I see with the pics I took. Let me know what you think. https://plus.google.com/photos/110578931944980172660/albums/5795989267279611233
It is not a proof. The rims would be flat not only on the bottom, but also the sides. If you look at the photo where you have on glove, showing the bottom of the rim, you will see how the bottom is beveled towards the side. Proof rims are at a 90º angle. I'm not sure about the doubling. More than likely it is machine doubling and not a true doubled die.
Thank you all for your valuable opinions. I appreciate each of you taking the time to look at the pics for me. Karen
