I am aware that the photos are a bit over pix-elated, I am shopping for a better camera to take macro coin photos, hopefully these will work.

Went through a old bag of Nickels was kinda excited I found a 41 Inverted S, and a 41 Lrg S. Plus the one 1960 pictured here.

Leaned towards deteriorated die, but the doubling is pretty strong & on multiple sides of several letters with little to no reduction in the width.

Something sticks in my mind that I have seen a similar coin on the Forum a little while back. If so, sorry to rehash, but this is the first time I have found the coin.

    Thanks for your thoughts Obverse 1.jpg Reverse 1.jpg Obverse 1.jpg Reverse 1.jpg 1960 p Nickel 2.jpg 1960 p Nickel 3.jpg 1960 p Nickel 4.jpg 1960 p Nickel.jpg 1960 p Nickel 5.jpg 1960 p Nickel 6.jpg 1960 p Nickel 7.jpg

Your close-ups are inconclusive for me.

I was pretty sure it is die deterioration, was just looking for a few people to chime in and potentially confirm my suspicion.
