Is the marking in the date common for small dates? I see a bunch of DDR's for this year, but nothing that matches this one. I think there is some doubling on the back of the neck. Maybe on the chin? Snap_051.jpg Snap_052.jpg Snap_053.jpg Snap_054.jpg Snap_055.jpg Snap_056.jpg Snap_057.jpg Snap_058.jpg Snap_062.jpg Snap_060.jpg

From the visible flow lines, I think you are looking at the effects of die deterioration.

Here is one they have listed as doubling on Wexler's 74fa5e1171ddcc8affff8c21ffffe417.jpg .

Looks different to your example. With 1.5 billion 1960D cents produced, and people poring over them for 63 years, chances are another variety would have been found by now.

I agree with die deterioration doubling. Below is the 1960D small date (red)/large date (blue) - D/D mint mark. The '0' size difference makes it easy to compare.

I know this is not a large over small. I would love for it to be, but I know it is not.
There are many different DDO's listed for this year, and this one looks similar to some of them, but no exact matches.
The extra markings in the 9 and 6 are also what I was wondering about.

I've seen this before, but always attributed that to touch-up engraving. I'm suspect that it's a DDO, but I suppose the edge goes to Wexler. I'll have to check out the listing.

It would really help if you copy and paste the link that you think it could be, Or the page to 60D DDO's.

I can see some faint E to W die scratches on the obv. And it looks like the die dent is there above the I. What I really wish is that wexler would photo the MM position. This would eliminate any confusion as to a matching die pair.
