I have 2 1960 d memorial cents. The R in liberty is kind of filled in between its legs. Is this a common error and is it worth anything. Please see pic.

looks like mechanical doubling.. but the details are not there for me to tell ... others might be able to see better .... if it is MD, its worth nothing over face - rather its worth nothing extra because of the MD ....

I see it. That corner should have been cleared. Only reason I can think of it wasn't is because that part of the die was chipped off. If so, kind of a keeper, but I don't know it carries any premium. Here's how that looks when it happens on the date (one way, anyway)...

I have two of them that are exactly the same. I thought it was kind of odd since I got two out of the same roll. Does that mean that they were from the same die. If so then what are the chances of getting 2 from the same die.

If it is a die chip - and it looks like it is - then every coin struck by that die (after the chip) will produce the raised spot on the coin-- Until the die is replaced, repaired, or breaks some more. The odds of getting two from the same die are high if its an original roll/bag/etc.

    Hi
The odds are high enough of getting multiple copies of an error in origional rolls that I found a rather nice die crack in a roll and then proceeded to find 42 more in the 5 rolls that I was searching!
