Well, this is pretty much the most fun I have ever had with coins! I really feel like a detective, and i feel that I nailed this one!

I found this coin off of a lot on Ebay, and have had it stored in a tube for the last three months. Earlier this week I decided i wanted to find some die errors, and up till now I have only found Machine doubling and CUD coins. Hopefully this will be my first Double Die find, Please help me verify this!

Little info I found on the Internet.

looks like some form of alternative doubling, i don't believe it's a DDR. Don't take my word as gospel though, i'm sure there will be better opinions that will follow

I don't see a doublED die here but it looks like it does have a die break - the doubling looks like machine or strike doubling.

    Hi,

Definitely not a doubled die. Don't feel bad though, five cent pieces can have some of the most deceptive forms of machine doubling and doubling due to die wear that you will ever see on coins:)

Also, for some reason, that year was a bad year for die chips and die breaks.

    Have Fun,
    Bill
