1960 Cud Jefferson

    I found this while searching five cent pieces, and thought it was pretty cool... p.s. the picture was taken with my new computer microscope, let me know what you think!

    This blemish is more accurately referred to as a die chip. A cud will carry off the rim, which in this specimen is still intact. Die chips are very common in this area in 1960 nickels.

    Nice find! This is often called the 1960 Bar Nickel. Do a search on Ebay in the Error coin part for them! While normaly such an error isn't worth much these seem to sell for a few bucks each!!

    i got one in change one time. i check all 1960D nickels i get just to see if it has a "bar" across the top of the 0. not worth much but really neat to find.

    Thanks guys for your help, I really like this coin and it is the first error I've ever found in a roll. If this kind of coin is relatively cheap, I wouldn't mind trying to fill a roll with bar 5 cent pieces
