196 Linoln cent

I just ran across a very nice Lincoln cent that has a date error. The date only contains 196 with the Denver mint mark. Any info about this error would be appreciated.

Got a photo? Without a photo I will guess the missing numeral could be due to a grease-filled die.

 

Sounds like a struck through error, grease.

 

I can send a pic from my iPhone. Message me with an email address for a pic. No digital camera available right now due to a dropping it on a concrete floor.

 

I emailed a pic to myself. From the enlarged pic it looks like a a damaged die. The 196 is tall and defined so I don't think it was grease. Then again it could be. Thanks for looking.

 

Sigh, here is my unfortunate example of similar, except it is a 1960 D/D RPM-100, sm date/large date DDO.
