1959, 1964-D 25c - What's going on by the eagles' heads?

    Look like die chips which are pretty common over and around the eagle's head on that era quarter.

    Just kidding! You found a couple of quarters, each of which, has a die chip in approximately the same place. Of course, it is unlikely that these coins were produced by the same die because they are five years apart. Even so, they would make a nice conversation piece.

    Yes to die chips. Have you checked the left wing of the 1964 for a die crack also? These are also quite common to 1964.

    I see a crack starting at the wing's edge. There's also a cool die crack from the wing through BUS. The reverse has a lot of interesting features.
