1958d penny possible error on reverse

    the leaf doesn't look right on the reverse ?

    That's a Wheat Stalk on the rev. Some type of die break or die chip. Fairly common, not rare. Something like your avatar.

    If you're talking about that place on the lower right outside edge of the wheat stalk, I think it is where that border of the stalk took a hit and was bent outwards. If you look at that border above that point, it seems to be missing. And that would be because it took a hit and got bent outwards.

    As for a die chip, look at the last A in AMERICA, just under the cross piece, on the right side. To me THAT looks like a die chip.

    Also look at the letters I, C, A in AMERICA and the letters T, E, S in STATES.
    Is that MD, SD, DDD or real DDR? I'm thinking it's DDD.
