1958 wheathead double die whithout the d

    i bought a red book the other day to see what i had the book said that a 58philly mint d/d was extremly rare only2 known i think i have the third this coin has 2 libertys 2 dates and you can make out another e before the w in 'we' on top above the head and the back is off too almost as bad both sides are rough where it should be smooth. have i got something here?

    I think your best bet is to Post pictures. I would hate to get your hopes up for nothing.

    Welcome to Coin Talk! Although the chance of finding the rare 1958-P "DDO #1" Lincoln Cent is very low, it is always possible that you may have one. However, there are other scenarios that would be considered errors (not Doubled Die doubling) that could possibly result in doubled lettering and other devices on the coin. Therefore, please post some pictures as soon as possible so that we can help you with the attribution of the coin. If you have difficulty getting in-focus pictures, then try taking the pictures with the aid of a Magnifying glass or Gem Loupe.
