The quarter has all the traditional marks of a normal 1958 quarter but the boarders stick out and the quarter is indented. The indented part fits a nickel in it perfectly. I'm new to collecting coins and got this while working my server job. Does that sound like an error coin or no?
Welcome to Coin Talk. Possibly this might be a "Spooned" coin. Someone tapping around the edges with a spoon to make a ring out of it.
@Judd2351 Your Quarter was Spooned - Not a Mint Error.. Sorry but just Damaged PMD - Post Mint Damage
1958 Silver Quarters are usually Spooned to be turned into rings. Looks like somebody gave up on yours. If you Google 'coin spooning' or 'making rings out of silver coins' you can see the technique.
Ah Paddy.......Ah why you spanking that quarter? You feeling okay? You don’t got what Kurt had do you? Just concerned Buddy. Reed.
In rhythm to spoon. Bad....coin bad....coin what you gonna do what you gonna do when they spank on you.
