Here is a 1958P Nickel that I believe has been an improperly annealed planchet.
I have never seen one in person but have done some research online and not sure how to know if it is legitimate .
Any information on the subject would be greatly appreciated upload_2024-8-21_20-24-24.jpeg upload_2024-8-21_20-24-24.jpeg upload_2024-8-21_20-24-24.jpeg upload_2024-8-21_20-24-24.jpeg upload_2024-8-21_20-24-24.jpeg upload_2024-8-21_20-24-24.jpeg

I'm going with "toning" but if I'm wrong, @paddyman98 will straighten me out. peace2.gif

It is the correct year for a BB designation. 58'-59' is the years that some grading comanies reconize as a BB. I believe there was a lot made of these made in these two years is why they got a desination.
It is just an Improperly Annealed Planchet error. The BB desination gets thrown at any black nickel from what I see, which is not correct and why there is much confusion about the name.

Looks like a toning issue to me. It just doesn’t have the Black Beauty look.
