Ok, I have a 1958 D wheat penny..and now I found a 1958 D magnetic chrome looking wheat penny?

    No.. There are no 1959 Steel Cents. Your Cent is most likely plated with a material that has magnetic properties. We have seen many others here on CoinTalk.

    Ahh, ..it's a 1958,...so the plateing makes it semi magnetic then? Should it come off or no? It has a die crack,... not sure yet how to upload a pic Thanks 4help'n

    Leave it alone.. put it away for educational reference. Purchase a gram scale and weigh it. Should be in the vicinity of 3.11 grams.. a bit more for the minor plating. A steel Cent would weigh in at 2.8 grams which is lighter.
