i have 2 of these pennies. one has the D slightly tipped left and almost touching the bottom of the first nine. the second is similiar but not tipped. i looked at another 1958 D and the D is in the normal mint mark location. is this an error? thanks, roger
Without photos we are only guessing. But my guess is "no". Mintmarks were punched into working dies by hand back then. The mintmark can and will be located in different places and that is normal (as long as the mintmark is located within a certain area. Many working dies were used in 1958 in Denver and the location of the mintmark was different on each one.
