1958 D Franklins from 1958 double Mint Set

    Here are the D Franklins from the 1958 Mint Set I've been posting recently. These were the main reason I bought the set. While red is a relatively common color for 1958 D silver coins, the florescent pink seen here is much rarer. While I'm planning on using them in my Franklin Danscos, I think they both would grade well if sent in to the TPG's. I'm quite happy with both coins, and I think that Bob Campbell did an excellent job on imaging them.

    I am in love with that color! Now if you could just split each in half and marry the obverse from the first with the reverse of the second. LOL I really need to start searching for these double mint sets. The few I've seen have not been all that attractive.

    Reality is that most are not. Of course neither is most other toning, which is why attractive toning is desirable. But from the cardboard Mint Sets of the '40s and '50s the '58 has long been known to often have exceptional toning, much more so than any of the others.

    The reverse of the last one reminds me of
    Whitmans guide to franklin and Kennedy Half dollars.
