    I recently found this while roll searching, it definitely looks like a doubled die to me but i'm no pro so would like to know what you all think. I checked coppercoins.com and there are many varietys but don't see one that is this heavily doubled. There are no other areas of the coin that I can see which are doubled which leads me to believe it is not machine doubling.
    It also almost looks like there is an "S" mint mark to the lower left of the D, although it may just be my eyes playing tricks on me??
    Anyone, anyone?
    Thanks!

    #1: Nice searching, keep going.
    #2: Not a DDO, it is strike.mechanical/machine doubling;
    #3: I think that I see wht you are saying, but the use of an S mintmark 3 years after they stopped minting at San Fran is illogical. Perhaps a stray thread, struck thru?

    Yep, that's machine doubling. Nice one.

    Machine doubling and the struck thru is a piece of wire probably.
