Wow. It just looks like an ordinary cent to me. I wonder how much it's worth. I'd think a DDO-DDR would be like double, right?

Slow down @Alastar131. Just getting into a hobby, any hobby, requires learning about it. Do lots of reading and research and then, and only then, post your coins with questions you can't answer. That's when we here at CT can help. Be patient.

As far as I know, the word Deutsch does not mean German.
The word Deutsch comes from late Medieval German Deudsch which in turn comes from Early Medieval Thiudisk, meaning ‘of the people.’
It is the language the people spoke versus the formal Latin which originated with the Romans. All the Germanic languages adopted variations on these roots.

My father was stationed at Landstuhl Military Hospital in Germany from 1954 to 1957. My mother told my I spoke German better than I did English. We had a maid and she took care of us and told us many stories that she told us that had originated in Germany. Repunzel is the only one I remember because I was 7-10 at the time and I am now 74. She also told us her version of Sleeping Beauty and several others that I know longer remember. We also got her version of WWII and the concentration camps.
