Wow...was looking over some of my coins i'v found roll hunting and noticed these 2 die chips i never noticed...lol also i found this coin when i was just starting out over a year ago, so i'm sure i didn't even know what i was looking at just liked how it looked...Well thanks as always for stopping bye and as allways HappyHunting everybody
Chris...not sure what you mean on raised and recessed...can you explain so i can learn what thats about...thanks
If the anomaly is raised (above the surface of the field), then it is very likely a die chip. If it is recessed (below the surface of the field), then it could be either a strikethrough or a gouge in the coin (PMD). If it is a strikethrough, there would be no evidence of coin metal pushed out along the rim of the anomaly. However, if it is a gouge in the coin, you should be able to see some coin metal pushed out along the edge of the anomaly. Chris
