1957d Error

    One cent. It's machine doubling. You can tell because the doubled image is flat (shelf like) and it also appears on the mintmark in the same direction.

    Take a look at the 1968 S in the link below. Same type of doubling but in a different direction. Notice the flat surface of the doubled devices:

    I've got a couple of the 57-D's with the dramatic machine doubling. This is one of the cases where MD does carry a small premium...
