1957D - Doubled Date or RPM?

    Maybe die detoration , definately not one one of the other forms of MD IMO. I have seen at least 10 of these and have one of them myself. everyone of them can easily be identified as being from the same die because of the die chip inside of the loop of the 9 . on the later versions this die chip is quite a bit larger.

    That is enlightening. I have several 1957D die chips in the loop of the 9 and I did not recognize this as the start of that chip.
