I found this today in a roll. There’s no mint mark...looks like it’s in pretty good shape. I can’t find a lot about this year. Thanks!
In my opinion, that looks like an impaired proof coin. https://catalog.usmint.gov/faqs-faq...esign.html?fdid=faqcategory-products-programs
Proof sets have been struck at the San Francisco Mint since 1968. However, the San Francisco Mint doesn't have an exclusive monopoly on the striking of proof coins. The gold and silver eagles and some commemorative coin programs have been struck at various other mints such as Philadelphia and West Point.
I would love to have a business strike with steps like that! What would be the grade for the OP's coin? ...PF-55?
No. Basically, proofs are struck with specially polished dies and planchets. You will also notice that the rim is more squared off than on a business strike and your coin exhibits that characteristic.
