1957 D Nickel dropped element ?

Hey guys do you think this could be a dropped element, i put a red line on what appears to be a piece of D ?

The size doesn't match up with any of the fonts used. The one above the "C" could be a strikethrough from something like a piece of wire. Are they both recessed?
