    Hi guys,

I have this 1957 D Lincoln Wheat penny and noticed a die chip on the "9' in 1957. But I also noticed what I think is a chip at the back topside of Lincoln's head, below "O" in God. (See close up photo). Is this also considered a die chip?

Lincoln cents of the 50's have been known to have lots of problems in and around lincolns head. IE cracked skulls retained die breaks. Small die chips and cuds involving his head and IGWT. Neat find.

Wow, this coin collecting "hobby" becomes more like work every time I read a review.

That may be, but you don't get paid a whole heck of a lot for coin collecting.

If it's raised it's a die chip. If it's recessed it's damaged. Nice chip on the 9 in the date.

So, do you think I wasted my money buying a digital microscope and a digital scale?

Not sure if the OP edited the photos, but on my screen they are Full Image, and you know how much I push for that.

That depends upon the reason you bought it in the first place.
You, really, should start your own thread.
