Here are the 1956 PD Washingtons for my A toner Dansco. I got them both out of the same Mint Set. While many of you might prefer the D mint toner (which is more classically a rainbow toner) from my B toner Dansco set posted several weeks ago, I prefer this D mint for my A set because of the unusual obverse "reverse raccoon" (or Indian warpaint) look.

This 56-D looks like it was in an old Wayte-Raymond album. I don't remember what your "B Toner" looked like, but I really like the rainbow on the reverse of this one.

By the way, Sy, did Bob Campbell take these images, too?

Hi Chris. I'm glad you like the coins. I also enjoy the rainbow on the reverse. As mentioned, the 1956-D came out of a Mint Set, although I can definitely understand the WR reference, as the toning does appear similar. It is interesting how the toning works, because the P mint also came out of the same Mint Set as the D mint, and the P obviously has a dramatically different color... the blue that is a classic color on P mint silver of that era.

Bob did not image these coins.

Both outstanding coins...that D has character for miles. Great description on the look!

Would love to see aerial shots of these danscos sometime.
