That has got to be the nicest nickle you have posted yet, but where is the toning? BTW, I think that is a 67+FS. Maybe I am lone man out there, but that is sharp.
66+ I do not know Jeffersons, though. I don't think it got the FS because the bottom step appears to be "broken" in spots.
Pacecar, read this article and then let me know what you think of the steps. The Full Step (FS) Designation for Jefferson Nickels
I have enough trouble distinguishing a 66 from a 67. Throw in + grades and I throw my arms up. I guessed 67 FS.
I really don't know what is keeping this coin out of a 5FS holder. Thanks for all the kudos guys, picked it up from Teletrade for a scant $250. Population 19/0
I would guess a 68 actually, but I don't know these coins. This would be a more exciting coin if someone was in the windows.
It's funny Doug, the area on the right that is showing some bridging only shows in the photo and doesn't appear in hand. However, there is a shallow diagonal mark in the center of the steps from step 3 to step 6 which almost appears non existent in the photo but is actually more severe in hand. Still, the mark is very shallow and should not preclude the FS designation. NGC was just tough on this coin IMO, I have seen far worse get the designation.
Compare this nickel from pocket change. I am glad you mentioned that about the door because I was looking through the nickelsin my pocket change and this 1 caught my eye. Even though this is well circulated , I can still see more detail in the memorial than on the OP's coin. Tell me what you think.
