1956 Egypt 50 Piastres (Pharoah breaking free) - Prooflike or ?

    Thought I’d share this one as I’ve always liked the design. This coin appears to be much superior to average & as you can see shows considerable lustre, better in hand, a LOT of die polishing and die scratches even, knife-like edge “finning” but less than ideal handling. What do you think? In hand it almost appears of specimen quality.

    @7Jags, yes, very nice, classic Egyptian design; I particularly like the cobras on the reverse. The scratches really are distracting, but I suspect that has to do more with the blowup pic & lighting than the actual coin itself. Congrats on nice specimen!

    Yes in hand much nicer but the "scratches" are on the die prep mainly....

    I have seen numerous warnings that eZest can reduce coin luster, but I wonder if it could be beneficial in reducing those lines...

    They look like raised die polish lines to me. I only say that because the lines disappear at every device. Tough to say for certain though from these pics.
