1955 Lincoln cent cud

  1. I was wondering if this cud on the B E in liberty adds value

    In my estimation, it could, but it wouldn't be a lot.
    It is worth keeping.

    BTW, the term cud only applies if it involves the rim. Otherwise, it's known as an interior die break or chip.

    Not a cud, as a cud involves the rim and extends out into the field. Its a die chip between the B and E, referred to as a "BIE" penny. It does add value, probably worth $3 at least, you can check eBay sold listings to see what they have gone for recently. Just search "BIE penny."

    A CUD is associated with the rim only. It's a die chip. It add a few dollars so on s really good day, maybe worth $5.00.
