Does this qualify as a DD on mintmark for 1955 penny? http://www.flickr.com/photos/mitchelliii/4746222742/sizes/o/ Also is this an example of a 1955 DD - on the date? http://www.flickr.com/photos/mitchelliii/4745642393/sizes/o/ The only other thing I notice is that the L is crushed on the other side. Everything else seems normal. Sorry pictures are not the best - first time taking them of coins, and first time posting here. Greetings! -Scott
not a Double Die but an RPM: 1955D-1MM-002 found in www.coppercoins.com nice find.
I think the second is a 1955 "poor man's" dd Thanks for the heads up - that's a nice site. On the second I think I have answered my own question. It appears to be a 1955 poor mans dd with basically only the last 5 smearing a bit and not doubling all over. See below. http://www.flickr.com/photos/mitchelliii/4745642393/sizes/o/ Thanks again! Scott
That might be an lamination error rather than Machine Doubling...I hope someoen with more experience than I will chime in,.
