1955 D Jefferson Nickel D/S?

I am not sure to me it looks like a D over S. The Cherry-pickers guide mentions there are a number of these out there. What do you think?

I can see something protruding from the bottom but not on the top.... Then again it would be hard to see without my 30x loop hopefully it is a rpm ....
