You got something there, that would be a RPM. In my opinion, I would not use LCR....they don't have much of a following and a lot of misinformation. Try this link. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/dietype.php?date=1955&die_mint=d&die_type=mm&page=0 Once you click on this link, there are five pages of 1955 D RPM's ( Re punched Mints ) look at each one for marks/variations in the die that fit this cent. When you find the mark that most looks like yours, click the blue LDS for (late die state) or MDS ( mint die state ) underneath the picture. Some just have LDS, but some have both. When you click on LDS/MDS it will show pictures of the cent, that points out die markers.
The lincolncentresource.com main site does not have an extensive list like coppercoins.com does; you will not find as extensive a list of the minor varieties, but you will find great pics of the major ones. You could also make an account and post on the lincolncentresource.net forum, there are lots of knowledgable people there to help you out. If you wanted to look up the coin on your own, use the following link...http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php Keep up the hunt!
