Can anyone tell me about this penny? I am very new at this and my mom has been holding onto coins for some years now. I don't get here too often so I am trying to get some of her change on here to see if it's worth holding onto or not...
it looks like someone ground down the one side and smashed it in a vice? i would say its post mint unfortunately but im sure others will chime in to verify this

Please don't do that. You can simply reply to this thread and attach photos to your reply. And your coin is damaged. It is not an error and is not worth a premium.
1955 cut penny with funny looking lettering Ok so here are some better pics. I'm not sure how to put arrows on it but it looks to me like the wording, and somewhat of the date, is thick. Also on the arm there are these funky lines on Abe and these are raised just like the lettering. I hope these pics do a better job of showing this penny. Thank you

I have been unable to work for many years now due to my disability and this new hobby is the first thing that has brought me joy in quite some time.
