1954 S with a high D ??

    Alright, it may be that I have just looked at this coin too much but it is looking quite interesting. What I would really love to see is one of the super ninja photographers do an overlay of a "D" into the 5 area just so I can sleep. As always, I'm welcome to any comments.

    Nice photo shop photo!
    but back to the real coin.there is a lot 53-S with a die crack that run north & south from date to mint mark.at one time they were called hanging S's 52-54 there one for all 3 years I think

    I would agree it is probably just a die break, but I can understand why one would question it as being a "D," though the marks are rather heavy and distinct which would be untypical for a misplaced mintmark. If it was BU and an EDS example I might give it another look.
