Found this in my 50 year box. So it's a '54 Jefferson with an "S" mint mark. My question is do you think that it's a "D" mint mark to the west? Thanks: Lou Obverse.jpg Reverse.jpg Close up.jpg

Nope a die chip I have a roll of unc. Just like yours.... 1954SOMM001ac.jpg
This is the omm, and the condition of your specimen would cancel any value of the variety.

Are you sure? What I'm talking about is what appears to be a "D" WAY west of the "S", like a full letter - not a die chip under the "S".

It could be but even if it is, any extra value is lost because of the coin wrapping machine damage.

Yeah, all that damage really sucks.

Am I sure? Look at the S they dont even match. Go to mint Mark styles...for the date and mm and get educated. ;)

I see what you are looking at, but it's an anomaly. Looking at the know RPM/OMMs for the date, nothing is in that general region. A chip with die deterioration is my guess.

Yeah thanks. If you squint you'll never see it. That's o.k. and BTY I did look up the MM styles. How is Ocean City, I'm thinking about heading south next year.

I think Chincoteague Virginia is a much better beach. It’s a national Seashore so well protected. No boardwalk and it has lifeguards from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It’s on the Atlantic ocean and I do enjoy it. It’s also not as crowded and that’s a big plus for me.

Assateague Island is both in Maryland and Virginia. I go to the Virginia area. Chincoteague is a small town. You have the mainland, cross the water and your in town. Cross another body of water and your in Assiteague Island. :)
Edited to add that there is a lighthouse and wild horses. The people are very friendly and nice.

About 6 years ago I had to run down to the outer banks to service some of the food lions on the island.
I went from top to bottom of the island. The nothern end also has wild horses from the same sorce the Spanish. The area is called Corolla nice area like Assateague.
