Nice, Wheaties are "rare" to find in the first place, but MS RB/RD are even more rare. Sent from my A463BG using Tapatalk
As I understand it, any penny with even the slightest loss of luster is classified as RB (Red-Brown). Finding any wheatie in that grade is rare for me. I'll find BU 1959-1965 Memorials and ugly brown 1958's in the same batch... I think BU wheaties might get saved by even non-collectors while most people (even collectors) will spend/cash in any Memorial they have, regardless of date and condition.
Unfortunately, that is true... And I've seen plenty of fully red slabbed coins designated RB by both PCGS and NGC... those are the only slabbed coins I look for to buy as the slabs don't do them justice.
Great find! I've got a few that are in similar condition, all of those are 57 and 58s. 1954 is a tough date to find regardless of condition and/or mintmark
